ALPHA Leadership Project
Recognizing that young men of color were not graduating at the rate they should be, Argelia Rodriguez led the creation of DC-CAP’s Alpha Leadership Project (ALP) in DC public and public charter high schools. The program empowered young men through a leadership academy, a fraternity, parent workshops, and mentoring. The high school graduation rate of participants averaged 90%.

STEM Ready
In response to the growing regional demand for STEM-skilled workers, Argelia Rodriguez led the development of DC-CAP’s STEM Ready Program. Graduates of the program demonstrated higher proficiency in math and science, increased awareness of the range of possible STEM based careers, and enrolled in STEM related majors at double the historical rate of DC public and charter school graduates.

Graduates of The STEM Ready Program, that Argelia Rodriguez created at DC-CAP in response to the growing regional demand for STEM-skilled workers, demonstrated improved higher proficiency in math and science subjects, increased awareness of the breadth and depth of possible STEM based careers, and enrolled in STEM related majors at double the historical rate of DC public and charter school graduates.
